Personalized
Each associate’s tasks are filtered by accessibility needs, geo-tracked location within the store, certifications/licenses, and role specifications. We want to ensure that we're being efficient in what we present to our associates, and maximize each user's potential.
Prioritized
We want to show only one system-directed task at a time, to avoid users cherry-picking easy or low-priority tasks and to reduce cognitive load for the user.
Interconnected Applications: Predictability
If our systems communicated more successfully, not only could we better predict incoming tasks and manage our labor accordingly, but we could improve our machine learning across the store ecosystem.
Interconnected Applications: Exception Flagging
We want to allow our associates the ability to flag exceptions for follow-up without their current task being disrupted and without forgetting to follow up manually.
Task Management: Pause & Recovery
As our associates' first priority is the customer, we need to give the ability for users to pause a task and give full attention to the customer, then recover when ready to resume without fear of metrics being docked.
Task Management: Resource Reallocation
As no system can perfectly predict human behavior, allowing our store leadership reallocate high priority tasks if the original user cannot complete it, ensures our stores are always functioning at full capacity.
Consistent Design System
Regardless of app/task, the user will see designs that feel consistent and unified, which allows users to hop into tasks that might not be familiar to them while still being able to navigate the UI.
